Company history

Whether you are a recent graduate or an experienced professional, joining Travelers means working for a market-leading, financially secure insurance company and engaging in a stimulating business environment with excellent development and career opportunities.

Travelers Ireland provides property and liability cover and risk management services for many types of business and private car insurance for motorists, through our Dublin-based office. We’re part of Travelers Companies, Inc., a well-known property-casualty insurer headquartered in the US with other operations in Canada and the UK.

Our parent company in the US, Travelers Companies, Inc., was named by BusinessWeek magazine as one of the ‘Best Places to Launch a Career’ in 2009, and we aim for the same high standards here. While our company in Ireland is smaller than in the US, our people often have the chance to gain an especially broad range of experience across a variety of functions.

From its modest beginnings in America 156 years ago, our group has strived to provide innovative insurance products – including the first ever motor policy in the US in 1897 and cover for the Apollo mission to the moon in 1969. Quoted on the New York Stock Exchange, Travelers employs approximately 33,000 people globally and has assets of some $110 billion.

In our UK office, Travelers offers a wide range of insurance products and risk management services, primarily through brokers, to business customers through the Travelers Insurance Company Ltd, as well as specialised covers through Travelers Syndicate (5000) Management Ltd.

Travelers is an equal opportunities employer and takes a positive approach to diversity. We offer a competitive remuneration package and benefits.
