- Are there any Grade I buildings, Grade II or historic buildings of a similar nature on site?
- Is there a full-time fire brigade response/access and a nearby water supply?
- What kinds of rides and experiences are there?
- Are there restaurant or food services available?
- Is there automatic fire detection and what type has been installed?
- Is there kitchen fire suppression installed?
- Is there up-to-date inspection of the fixed wiring, with no defects outstanding?
- Has there been portable appliance testing (PAT) done?
- Is there an off-season?
- Are there intruder alarms installed? If yes, please describe.
- Is there good physical security, including perimeter protection/fencing?
- Is enhanced security in place in respect of theft and attractive grounds keeping equipment?
- Is there any history of flooding?
- Does the business have a business continuity plan?
Liability
- Do you have a written health and safety (H&S) policy that is up to date/regularly reviewed?
- Do your responsible H&S staff have any relevant qualifications?
- Are risk assessments carried out, documented, up to date and reviewed regularly?
- Is any part of the premises hired out? If so, for what activities?
- What might be any high-hazard activities or experiences?
- Are checks carried out on staff prior to employment, including disclosure and barring service (DBS), barred list and references?
- Does the museum have any rides/interactive exhibits?
- Are the premises closed to visitors during the off-season?
Material damage/business interruption
- Does the business have modern purpose-built or purpose-converted premises?
- Is the business in close proximity to a full-time fire brigade?
- Is there a written and tested business continuity programme (to an expected high standard)? Although offices can often transition to ‘work from home’ or ‘work from anywhere’ scenarios, there are still risks from interruptions to their business. What might those be in this case?
- Is there automatic fire detection with a central station connection?
- Is there an additional fire risk from onsite canteens and similar? If so, these should be carefully underwritten, and appropriate duct cleaning/fire suppression in place.

- What is the documented process and schedule for:
- Fixed electricals and portable appliance testing?
- Documented maintenance and cleaning programmes?
- Documented waste removal programmes?

- Regularly reviewing and testing of business continuity plan?
